Move the machine from storage to the field

To move the machine from storage to the field, follow these steps:

  1. Adjust the machine’s towing hitch coupling.

See "Adjust the towing hitch coupling".
  2. Ensure the box carriage assembly locking lever is in the LOCK position to prevent damage during transport and to support the carriage when the machine is not in use.

See "Box carriage assembly locking lever".
  3. Lower the hoist onto the pin to relieve stress on strap.

This offloads tension on the hoist strap to ensure the carriage is fully supported by the mechanical carriage lock.

See "Box carriage assembly locking lever".
  4. Press the Emergency Stop to prevent accidental lowering while transporting.

See "Power switch settings for different conditions".
  5. Ensure the machine is not plugged in, and there are no objects under or around the machine.

  6. Using the towing vehicle, move the machine onto the field.

    Notice

When towing the machine on and around the field:

    • Travel at less than 10 mph.

    • Make large radius turns greater than ten yards, especially when on the field.

    • Ensure there is enough clearance under the machine frame.

    • Use the handles provided when manually moving the machine. Do not push on the side panels of the machine.

    • Ensure the surrounding area is clean of debris and obstacles.

    • Ensure that there is no person standing or walking in the vicinity of the machine.

    • Ensure the frame is fully raised and not in the center position.

Transporting the BEAST with the frame in the centered position can lead to interference with the ground and cause damage.

Moving the BEAST at center position is only recommended during a test matrix where the ground is level between locations.

    Tip

Biocore recommends keeping the machine attached to the towing vehicle until all testing is completed.
